The Best Places to See Live Music in Pererenan

Our neighbourhood has become a little music hub, and we couldn't be happier about it. Whether you're after some smooth jazz or want to discover your new favourite band, Pererenan's live music scene is worth checking out.

The Regular Spots (Your Weekly Soundtrack)

Woods

This is where you'll find us most nights – Woods has nailed the perfect balance of great vibes and incredible talent. Here's what's happening each week:

Tuesday nights bring Indonesian jazz legend Kevin Suwandhi to the grand piano. Trust us, this isn't something you want to miss. Kevin's been part of Indonesia's jazz scene for decades, and experiencing his music in our intimate neighbourhood setting is pretty special.

Thursdays are all about the jazz trio featuring Bec Mo and friends – perfect if you're looking for some sophisticated chilled out jazz.

Friday nights switch it up with vinyl hip hop DJ sets with Joshua and special guests. The energy completely transforms, and it's exactly what your weekend needs to kick off right.

Sundays close out the week with Bali Jazz ID sessions. Whether you're nursing weekend recovery or gearing up for Monday, these Sunday jazz sessions with a proper sunday lunch are fun and entertaining.

Mostly

Head to Mostly when you want to discover something new. Their live music acts change weekly, so you never quite know what you're going to get, so it’s best to look at their IG before you head there. Throughout the week, you'll catch different bands and artists, with DJs usually taking over Friday nights. It's become our go-to spot for musical surprises, especially more earthy or acoustic sounds.

Arte

Arte keeps it classy and consistent. Wednesday nights are reserved for live jazz – the kind that makes you want to order another drink and settle in for the long haul, although they often have different bands so make sure you check their Instagram to see if the music is your cup of tea. Thursday nights bring vinyl sessions that'll have you discovering tracks you never knew you needed in your life.

Shady Fox

Music happens at Shady Fox at least a few times each week, usually leaning into jazz and blues territory. The schedule changes weekly, but when they have live music on, the atmosphere is lively and louder than most other places in Pererenan.

Red Gunpowder

This one's for our adventurous music lovers. On the first Wednesday of every month, Red Gunpowder hosts live sitar performances – it's mesmerising and completely different from everything else happening in our neighbourhood. They also throw Bollywood vinyl nights once a month, which are exactly as fun as they sound.

Other special mentions: Check Before You Go)

Some other places host live music sporadically, so you'll want to keep an eye on their schedules:

Shelter, Zali, Cinta, Origen and Le Bajo also have live music events sometimes. The lineups and frequency change, but when they have music on, it can be nice for a change of scene. Follow their socials or swing by to see what's coming up. Wherever you end up, we hope you love it.
